This week, we began reading
The Sound and The Fury, by William Faulkner. The first chapter is an introduction to the rest of the book and the main character, Benjy. Benjy is a severely mentally challenged 33 year old man. Benjy is viewed as a helpless person who needs aid in everything he does, but in reality, Benjy is the only one who can truly see the truth in his family's situation. He can predict the downfall of his family but can't fully communicate it to the rest of his family. He can see visuals and images of the failure of his family.
